Multi Period Optimization of Cogeneration Systems Considering Biomass Energy for District Heating

چکیده

In this paper, emphasis is put on a case study that deals with a system for distributing heat generated in a centralized location for residential and commercial heating requirements. This idea is integrated in the concept called “Energy Hub,” which is a conceptual cluster of local energy converters and storages. It’s supplied by multiple energy carriers coming from an existing grid or from local renewable energies, and delivers power to loads or has the possibility of selling energy back to the external grid. However, the approach here focuses on solving the optimal power flow for integrated systems with multiple energy carriers that can be appropriately applied to a district heating network and to minimize local energy costs. On such a system, a multi period optimization implementation is discussed and a comparison of different periods is performed to understand how the variation in the output of the mathematical model can be apportioned quantitatively, to the sources of uncertainty in the input of the model.
